Stars On Ice Review - Philadelphia, PA - Feb. 25, 2000

All I can say is Wow. It was terrific. Kurt was
absolutely hysterical and his two solo numbers were
really well done. Everyone went nuts when he came
out. And his number with Tara was much cuter than I
expected. I really liked it. I also really liked
Katia and Ilia's number, though I'll admit, it's still
wierd to see her without Sergei. She looked happy
though and her ribbon number was breathtaking. So was
the Roca/Sur number. I'm not big into ice dancing,
but they did really well. Scott, as always, was
wonderful...so was Kristi. But they were all popping
jumps left and right and down around my end too! :) I
think though, as silly as Kurt's character was, it
takes tremedous skill to make was he did look
effortless and I don't think anyone else could have
pulled it off as nicely as he did. He was just so
cute! I also loved Bechke and Petrov's number...those
lifts were incredible and she did 2 or 3 flips too!
And Meno and Sand were wonderful as well. LuLu was
okay...so was Stephen Cousins, but I have to admit,
I'm not one of their biggest fans. I did like the
number Kristi and LuLu did together and the Simon and
Garfunkel medly was so cute. Katia as Cecelia was
terrific and Kristi's Bridge over troubled water was
fantastic. I also though the photographic motif for
"Old Friends" was good, but the music was kind of
annoying. However, when Katia stood on the ice, arms
crossed and Scott came over to get her during the
number, I just burst out laughing! I understood the
sentiment though and thought it was a nice number.
The "Me and Julio" number that led into Cecelia was
funny too with Kurt and Steven skating around and
Scott trying to catch up. I have to admit, I was
laughing for a good part of the time Kurt was on the
ice. And Scott's Quijote (I think that's the theme)
number if funny too...as if spoofing amateur skating.
I really enjoyed the show and if you haven't seen it
yet, I"m sure you will too.
