Kurt Browning, Brasseur & Eisler and Tom Collins to be Inducted Into Figure Skating Hall of Fame at 2000 Bank of Montreal Canadian Championships in Calgary

Four-time World Champion, Kurt Browning, and World Champion pair skaters Isabelle Brasseur and Lloyd Eisler will join skating entrepreneur Tom Collins for induction to the Canadian Figure Skating Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place immediately following the senior dance final on Sunday, January 30 during the 2000 Bank of Montreal Canadian Championships in Calgary.

Browning, of Caroline, Alberta won four World Championship titles between 1989 and 1993. He also was 1983 Novice, 1985 Junior, and four-time Senior Canadian Champion (1989-1991 & 1993). He competed at his first Olympic Games in Calgary in 1988 where he finished 6th and went on to make history at the 1988 World Championships in Hungary by successfully completing the first quadruple jump in competition. Always a crowd favorite, Browning joined the professional ranks following the 1994 Olympics.

Brasseur and Eisler captured the hearts and minds of the judges and skating fans alike during their eight-year partnership. The duo, known for their daring, athletic programs, were five-time national champions. The World Champions in 1993, and two-time Olympic bronze medalists in 1992 and 1994.

Tom Collins began his skating career with renowned coach Sheldon Galbraith, but turned his talents to behind-the-scenes skating management in the early 1960s. Thirty years ago he launced the Tom Collins Tour in the United States and Canada. A long-time supporter of figure skating in both the U.S. and Canada, Collins has contributed in excess of $3 million to the CFSA's Athlete Trust over the last two decades.
