Olympic and World Champion skaters grace the ice of the new Ricoh
Coliseum in Toronto for HOLIDAY FESTIVAL ON ICE, Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 9
p.m. on CBC Television.
Four-time World Champion Kurt Browning and Canadian Olympic Gold
medallists Jamie Sale and David Pelletier headline an all-star cast,
with choreography by Canadian World Champion and two-time Olympic
Silver medallist Brian Orser.
The spirit of this ice extravaganza is heightened by one of the
world's premier choral ensembles-the Toronto Children's Chorus, which
is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The chorus boasts over
100 male and female voices, ranging in age from seven to 17 years old.
According to Browning, HOLIDAY FESTIVAL ON ICE is an event that
marks the beginning of the Christmas season for him. "It's a special
family show that really makes everyone in the audience pause and enjoy
the spirit of the season."
Joining in the holiday spirit is Jennifer Robinson, Canada's
National Champion; Takeshi Honda, Japan's National Men's Champion and
a contender at the World Championship level; Jeffrey Buttle and Fedor
Andreev, rising Canadian men's stars; Elizabeth Putnam and Sean Wirtz,
the young Canadian team poised to take on the world in pairs skating;
Jennifer Kirk; Ryan Jahnke; Shawn Sawyer; and Danielle Kahle.
HOLIDAY FESTIVAL ON ICE is produced and directed for television by
Shelagh O'Brien. Executive producers are Peter Sisam and Sarah
Clarke. It is a Broadcast Services International Inc. and IMG Canada
Ltd. production.
